Sam Blackwell Photographs and Papers 1895-2004 1944-2004

The collection consists of photographs and slides taken by Sam Blackwell, instructor at Lane Community College. The photographs were taken of buildings and grounds and classroom activities on the LCC main campus and other college locations. The collection also includes photographs of Blackwell’s family, travels in the US and abroad, and his service in the U.S. Army in France during World War II.

Samuel E. Blackwell was born in 1917 in Amarillo, Texas. He received a B.S. in Business Administration, 1939, from Abilene Christian College and an M.S. in Public Relations and Advertising from the School of Journalism at Syracuse University in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army, 1942-1946. Sam Blackwell died in 2005. He taught at Lane Community College from 1968 to 2000.
